AUDITIONS for a Theatre Play – Blackadder Goes Forth
DDG is excited to announce OPEN auditions for Blackadder Goes Forth. Based on the iconic British BBC comedy TV show starring powerhouses such as Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, and Tony Robinson. This is a comedic and tragic piece of theatre based around the events of WW1 in Europe. We have several roles available and would love you to attend the auditions. We welcome actors of all experience to come along.
When: Saturday 18th May 2024
Time: 11 am – 1 pm (Please note it is on a first come first served basis, so there may be a wait time when you arrive)

Roles:
All roles will be of the following characters.
Soldiers fighting for the Allies in the trenches and back office during WW1, based in France.
Male (Females can Audititon if you are happy to play a male role, you will have to wear a suit )
Playing age 20-50 years old
Any cultural or ethnic background
One Nurse, female, any cultural or ethnic background, playing age 20-35
What to Prepare: Please prepare a 1 -2 minute monologue of your choice. It can be a comedy piece or a Dramatic piece from any play. You may also be asked to do a reading from a small extract of the script from Blackadder on the day.
Things to Know
- Please arrive early so we can see everyone
- Please do wear comfortable clothing to help you feel relaxed
- RTA parking is available at the front of the school
- The performance will be in early November and will run over a weekend
- Rehearsals will be from the end of August, 3 times a week until the show
- There will be read-throughs before the summer
- You will be expected to learn your script over the summer
