Join us for DDG’s next play reading, ‘The Laramie Project’ (2000) by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project. The play was written in reaction to the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. An example of verbatim theatre, the play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by the theatre company with inhabitants of Laramie, company members’ own journal entries, and published news reports. It is divided into three acts, with eight actors portraying 60+ characters in a series of short scenes.
